Start, pause, and stop captions

Updated over 2 months ago

On the main screen, Bridge shows captions while you’re in a call.

Start captions

  • For most setups, captions begin automatically when a call becomes active.

  • If you are using Analog (RJ-9, captions do not start automatically—tap Start captions on the main screen.

Change caption mode during a call

  1. While in a call, tap mode (the “mode” button on the bottom toolbar).

  2. Choose the caption mode you want (for example, OFF vs AI).

Pause captions

  1. Tap mode during the call.

  2. Choose "Stop Captions".

Restart captions

  1. Tap mode during the call.

  2. Choose AI.

Stop captions

Captions stop automatically when the call ends (except for RJ-9). If the call ends but the captions screen stays open, it will close after a short delay.

RJ-9

Captions will not automatically stop. In the call screen, tap the 'X' button in the top right corner.

If captions stop due to inactivity (RJ-9)

On RJ-9, captions may stop after a period of inactivity. If you see Inactive Call:

  1. Tap Dismiss.

  2. Start captions again from the main screen when you’re ready.
